Stewart Project Moves Forward with Strong Community Support, Building the Future of Homeownership in Baldwin Park
Your support is helping to build 15 affordable homes for low-income, first-time homebuyers in Baldwin Park.
San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity (SGV Habitat) is transforming a former church campus generously donated by the Presbytery of San Gabriel into innovative affordable first-time homebuyer opportunities. The project is the first affordable housing development in Los Angeles County using California Senate Bill 4 (SB 4) and will create 15 new homes.
When completed, the development will provide one-, three- and four-bedroom homes for local families who have been priced out of homeownership.

Thanks to the generosity of the DeNova Community Fund, throughout late summer, donations to the campaign are being matched dollar for dollar, up to $111,000. Every gift can go twice as far toward turning this underused property into a thriving neighborhood.

The Stewart Project is especially meaningful as SGV Habitat continues its extensive Eaton Fire recovery work in Altadena. While rebuilding homes for fire survivors remains a critical priority, projects like Stewart demonstrate that the need for affordable homeownership extends across the San Gabriel Valley—and that SGV Habitat is committed to addressing both challenges.
