SGV Habitat is here to support those impacted by the Eaton fire, offering assistance to repair and rebuild homes, restore stability, and help families recover. Together, we can rebuild stronger, safer communities for all.
We can offer support with
- Rebuilding: SGV Habitat serves as your one-stop building partner.
- Home Repairs: Essential repairs to restore the safety and stability of your home.
- ADU’s (Accessory Dwelling Units): Small secondary homes that create space for family, caregivers, or additional housing on your property.
Rebuild
This program is designed for homeowners whose primary residence was destroyed by the Eaton Fire. We’re rebuilding now — and we may be able to build back your home too.
This may be a good fit for you if you:
- Owned and lived in the home prior to the fire
- Plan to rebuild and return to the property
- Still have a funding gap that makes rebuilding difficult
- Want a partner to reduce stress and guide the design, financing, and construction process
- Meet these income requirements:
Maximum Household Income Qualification
We serve low- and moderate-income homeowners impacted by the fire. Right now, maximum income limits range by household size, listed below. Some funding sources prioritize low-income households.
Household Size / Gross Income
- 1 / $127,200
- 2 / $145,440
- 3 / $163,560
- 4 / $181,800
- 5 / $196,320
You do not need to have every detail figured out before applying. We will work with you.
San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Wildfire Rebuild Program is actively underway, with homes already under construction and funding available to support additional homeowners. If your goal is to return home sooner, with fewer obstacles and a trusted partner guiding the process, we’re here to help.
What we build
We build:
- Primary homes
- Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
- Garages
All homes are built using designs from The Foothill Catalog (TFC) — county pre-approved, all-electric, and fire-resilient, created specifically for post-wildfire rebuilding. We can offer you any design within 200 sqft of your original home footprint or smaller. These current designs range from 975 sq. ft. to 2,417 sq. ft., with additional plans coming soon.
Plus, our own standardized SGV Habitat Designs from 484 sq ft. – 891 sq ft., can also be used as Primary Home Designs or Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).
Many properties can accommodate multiple structures, such as a primary home plus an ADU, and our team will gladly review your lot, constraints, and layout options with you.
All Foothill Catalog designs are available to explore online. We encourage you to visit their website to browse the full catalog of homes, review detailed floor plans, and even experience select designs through interactive 3D renderings.
How funding works
Rebuilding after a wildfire often requires combining multiple funding sources. SGV Habitat helps bring these together so you can move forward sooner. Typical funding sources may include:
- Insurance proceeds
- Potential wildfire settlement or recovery funds
- SGV Habitat gap funding or affordable financing options
If there is still a gap after your available funds, SGV Habitat may be able to advance funds to allow construction to begin now, rather than waiting years to rebuild. Our goal is simple: help you rebuild your home without taking on new commercial debt whenever possible.

Repairs
Overview
The Fire Relief Home Repair Program helps homeowners recover from the Eaton Fire by funding essential repairs and restoring safe living conditions.
Please note that currently we are unable to offer smoke remediation services. Roofs and post remediation repairs like interior painting and flooring will take priority. Funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis for income eligible households. Applications will continue to be accepted while funds last.
Funding
Projects will be financed through a 0% interest, 5- or 10-year forgivable mortgage loan, determined based on the cost of the project, and due if the home is sold, transferred, or no longer owner-occupied during that time. After the designated time, the loan will be completely forgiven with no interest or payments due.
To assist as many households as possible, there will be a cap on funds provided per project, based on repair needs and funding available.
Next step
Please complete the Home Damage and Assistance form to join the application queue and someone will be with you soon. Please contact our team with any questions.
