Donating a car in the San Gabriel Valley is one of the most impactful, and easiest, ways to support affordable housing in our community. Habitat for Humanity SGV’s Cars for Homes vehicle donation program accepts cars, trucks, RVs, boats, and motorcycles, running or not. Towing is free! Your donation may also qualify for a tax deduction.

Every vehicle donated to Cars for Homes in the San Gabriel Valley generates funding that goes directly toward building and repairing affordable homes for families right here in the San Gabriel Valley.

The Little Sedan That Could

Purchased in 2007, this Honda Civic in Galaxy Grey metallic paint was my first new car. I was about halfway into my undergraduate degree and felt like the commutes for school and work were becoming too much for my old 1991 Toyota Wagon. It was a proud moment made possible thanks to my cosigner – my grandmother, Josefina.

Turning Miles into Meaning

Jorge & Frances recently donated their vehicle to Cars for Homes. For 25 years, the car provided them with safety, comfort and lifelong memories (of endless road trips). Now their vehicle will continue to create memories as funds raised from this donation will support San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity’s affordable homeownership programs.

One Car’s Last Journey

“We drove our car until we thought it had no life left,” they said. “When we called Cars for Homes, they took care of towing it away. Shortly after, we received the value for tax purposes, and we were shocked at how much it was worth. Knowing those funds will be used to help fulfill dreams of homeownership made saying goodbye much easier.”
