Rooted in Altadena: Music, Wood, and the Power of Rebuilding
Four Instruments. One Mission. A Lasting Impact.
When the Eaton Fire devastated Altadena in January 2025, countless homes and cherished trees were lost. Through a special partnership between San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, Fender Custom Shop, PLUS1 LA Fires Fund, and Angel City Lumber, salvaged wood from fallen Altadena trees was transformed into four one-of-a-kind instruments.
Each guitar tells a story of resilience, creativity, and hope, bringing the community’s history to life while raising critical funds to help families rebuild and return home.
The Final Guitar: Altadena Precision Bass
One Last Guitar. One More Chance to Make a Difference.
The fourth and final instrument in this extraordinary collaboration is here! Crafted from a historic Altadena Deodar cedar tree lost in the Eaton Fire, this one-of-a-kind Fender Custom Shop Limited-Edition Altadena Precision Bass represents the resilience of a community determined to rebuild.
And now, you have a chance to win it!
Every dollar raised through this final sweepstakes will support SGV Habitat’s efforts to help families rebuild and return home to Altadena.

Where Music Met a Mission

The guitar was later auctioned, with Ross Dakin placing the winning bid of $13,700, along with an additional $3,000 donation from an anonymous supporter.

A Second Chance to Make a Difference
Crafted from a fallen Altadena Deodar cedar tree, the second Fender Custom Shop guitar continued the mission through a special sweepstakes benefiting SGV Habitat’s rebuilding efforts. The campaign raised more than $15,000, with Cheryl B. of Pasadena winning this extraordinary, one-of-a-kind Stratocaster.

The Altadena Jazzmaster
Raising the Roof for Altadena
The third instrument took center stage at SGV Habitat’s 2026 Raise the Roof Gala, where the one-of-a-kind Fender Custom Shop Altadena Jazzmaster was featured in a live auction. The guitar brought in an incredible $20,000, supporting continued efforts to rebuild homes and restore hope for families impacted by the Eaton Fire.
From the first guitar to the final bass, this collaboration is a reminder that something beautiful can emerge from loss. We are deeply grateful to Fender, PLUS1, Angel City Lumber, and everyone who has helped turn music into meaningful impact for Altadena.
