The wildfires impacting our service area have brought challenges to many, including our Habitat family. San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity is heartbroken over the destruction. We are sad to report those affected include one of our recent Habitat homeowners, several home preservation partners and many ReStore vendors who have lost their homes.
As this tragedy continues we send a heartfelt thank you to the first responders, volunteers and community organizations who are working to protect and serve all of us. While our first responders address immediate needs, we are preparing for the work ahead to provide lasting solutions for affected families. If you are interested in joining us in this work, please add your name to our Volunteer Interest List. |

Your Impact is the Solution
Since our founding in 1990, all families who have completed our homeownership program have had a 100% success rate with zero foreclosures or defaults! Charity Navigator has ranked us in the top 1% of non-profits – with 96% of all donations going to build and repair more homes.
The Programs You Make Possible
Affordable Homeownership
Habitat homebuyers help build their homes alongside community volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. All household members 18 years and older are required to participate in some form of “sweat equity” – our homebuyers complete 250 hours per head of household. This helps them build their future home and take homebuyer education courses to prepare them for success. As a result, our homebuyers thrive in their homes with a total foreclosure rate of 0% since our inception.
Affordable Home Preservation
Seniors, veterans and other low-income homeowners find financial relief and stability through our low-cost, nonprofit home repair program. The repairs ensure the safety, security and sustainability of our clients’ homes.
