ReStore Warehouse/Sales Associate – Los Angeles

The ReStore Warehouse/Sales Associate - Los Angeles will assist Customers, unload trucks, assemble items, clean and price items, move stock to the sales floor. The ReStore is a mission-critical role that supports SGV Habitat to live out our vision of a San Gabriel Valley and world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Maintain, enhance and grow customer base through excellent customer service. Maintain and constantly improve the look and feel of the ReStore. Function as a key member of the Sales team: Collaborate with other team members, on a daily basis and participate in shaping the Stores strategic direction. ReStore LEAD with Keys (part-time)

The ReStore Lead with keys supports the Store Manager with Operations and leads with excellence to ensure maximum success for the ReStore. They will ensure that Customer Service and Safety is the # 1 priority. They will also open and close the building according to the organization’s guideline. This person is able to make decisions when the Store Manager is not present.

Customer Service and Safety. Reports and unsafe practice or violation of security practice to the Store Manager or Director of Retail Operations. Understand the pricing strategy, participates in offloading donations. Building product as needed. Forklift operation (must be certified within 60 days of employment). May be asked to work at the other location in Atwater Village CA/Duarte CA, if the need arises.

ReStore Assistant Driver (Part Time)

The ReStore Assistant Driver will serve as an ambassador for our organization by picking up donated merchandise throughout our service area. If you have excellent customer service skills, experience in driving, delivery and retail, with a willingness to serve, this is the position for you. This position is physically demanding and involves a significant amount of heavy lifting on a daily basis. It is also very rewarding, including many opportunities to help families build financial stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

Pick-up and deliver donations using Habitat for Humanity vehicles including a pick-up, box truck and stake bed truck. Properly load trucks to make sure all items are secure and will be safe to move and unload, while maximizing space. Use of appropriate tools (including pallet jacks, ratchet straps, hand trucks, furniture dollies, and a fork lift) to safely transport donations. Assist in keeping trucks well maintained and clean, including doing minor repairs, as needed, and regular inspections for up-keep (e.g. tire pressure, oil changes, fluid check, etc.). Make sure all donations are sellable and match the ReStore’s donation criteria. Work in the ReStore warehouse and on the sales floor when donation pick-up duties are completed. Assist in other areas, as requested.

National Construction Crew Leader

The construction crew leader plays an integral part in building and repairing homes. Lead groups of skills and unskilled volunteers and homeowner families in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment, thus, developing and enhancing your volunteer management and construction skills.

*Typically serve Tuesday – Saturday on the build site.
*Assist with all aspects of hands-on construction tasks including, but not limited to, demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry and landscaping.
*Projects may include new construction, rehabilitation, critical home repair and weatherization projects.
*Lead small groups of volunteers and facilitate safe and positive experiences for everyone working on site.
*Maintain site safety by adhering to Habitat construction safety policies, modeling best practices and guidelines, volunteer education and site monitoring.

This position will focus on home construction and home repair aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

National Homeowner Services Coordinator

The homeowner services coordinator builds and maintains the pipeline of homeowner families by leading efforts to recruit and educate qualified families for both homeownership and home repair opportunities. This role involves recruiting homeowner family applicants and serving as their point of contact as they go through the application process. Together with a family selection committee, you help select homeowner families for a variety of housing products including new home construction, repair or rehab of existing homes and weatherization projects.

*Coordinate existing programs to recruit homeowner applicants for traditional homeownership opportunities or for expanded housing products such rehab, repair or weather revitalization.
*Conduct applicant orientations and assist families throughout process of completing the housing application.
*Work with the family selection committee to select homeowner families based on established criteria and regulations.
*Work with the family services committee and staff to provide educational opportunities to homeowner families.
*On occasion, build alongside homeowner families as they complete their contract requirements.

This position will focus on home repair, homeowner services and mortgage services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

National Volunteer Services Coordinator

The volunteer services coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base and advancing individual and group partnerships. Market within the community to recruit new volunteers. Develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

*Typically serve Tuesday – Saturday to support work on the build site.
*Recruit and schedule volunteers for construction, office, ReStore, deconstruction, family services and special events opportunities.
*Assist with all aspects of volunteer management including orientations, maintenance of database, volunteer tracking and follow-up.
*Work with construction staff to ensure successful volunteer build days – signing volunteers in, providing orientation and safety briefings, helping put away tools with volunteers at the end of the day and ordering necessary volunteer supplies.
*Develop and/or revise volunteer recruitment, management and recognition tools.

This position will focus on volunteer services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

Resource Development VISTA

The resource development VISTA member creates, documents and implements a plan for donor engagement, tracking and recognition in order to increase the overall donor experience and donor buy-in to Habitat’s mission. Each strategy should be well documented and evaluated to ensure sustainability beyond your service.

*Research, develop and document a resource development and marketing plan, including targeting local individuals, businesses, faith organizations, school groups, civic groups and other community organizations.
*Research, develop and implement systems to track donor contacts and donations and develop a donor recognition plan to recognize donor loyalty and/or milestones.

This position will focus on brand management, fundraising, research, monitoring and/or evaluation, virtual/digital systems and platforms and volunteer services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.
