San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity had an exciting opportunity to connect with a new audience on Saturday, August 22nd, when Just Like Heaven Fest took place at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Through our partnership with Be the People, Michael Bridges, Senior Director of Development, represented SGV Habitat at the music festival, continuing our outreach and introducing our mission to festivalgoers who may not yet be familiar with our work.
The invitation comes at an especially meaningful time in our growing relationship with Be the People. Recently, SGV Habitat hosted a highly successful volunteer build day with the organization, bringing together a diverse group of volunteers—including artists who helped sponsor the highly visible and successful Concert for Altadena this past January. These artists have continued to support our mission by helping spread the word about SGV Habitat and our work to their own audiences and communities.
Partnerships like these are helping us amplify the SGV Habitat mission beyond our traditional circles. By connecting with artists, music fans, community leaders and new groups of volunteers and donors, we are expanding awareness of the need for affordable housing throughout the San Gabriel Valley and the many ways people can get involved.
Events such as Just Like Heaven Fest give us the chance to meet people where they are, share our story and build relationships that can grow into lasting support.
We are grateful to Be the People for opening these doors and helping SGV Habitat expand our horizons, reach new audiences and inspire more people to join us in building stronger communities and brighter futures for local families.
