College Corps Fellows gain hands-on experience while helping SGV Habitat build homes, strengthen communities and create lasting change.
San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity is proud to continue its strong partnership with Pasadena City College through the #CaliforniansForAll College Corps Program, expanding an already meaningful relationship into a new opportunity to develop the next generation of community leaders.
SGV Habitat and Pasadena City College have worked together on initiatives that connect education, service and community impact. The College Corps program builds on that foundation by placing college students with carefully selected nonprofit organizations, where they can develop professional skills, contribute their knowledge and talents, make valuable connections and gain hands-on experience addressing real-world community needs.
SGV Habitat is honored to be among a select group of Southern California nonprofits hand-picked to participate in the program. The opportunity reflects the strength of our relationship with Pasadena City College and our shared commitment to creating pathways for students to learn, serve and grow.
Our experience with the program last year demonstrated just how powerful that connection can be. Isaac Banuelos, who joined SGV Habitat as a College Corps Fellow, brought his creativity, technical skills and passion for storytelling to our organization. His fellowship experience ultimately led to his joining the SGV Habitat team as a talented videographer.
Today, Isaac’s work helps bring our mission to life, documenting our homeowners, volunteers, events and community impact. His work can be seen in our most recent Gala video and other SGV Habitat communications which can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
Isaac’s journey is an example of what can happen when educational institutions and nonprofits create meaningful opportunities for students to apply their talents while gaining real-world experience.
For SGV Habitat, continuing our participation in #CaliforniansForAll College Corps is an investment in both our organization and the future of our community. We look forward to welcoming new Fellows, sharing our mission with them and learning from the perspectives they bring.
Together with Pasadena City College and our California partners, we are building more than homes—we are helping build the skills, connections and leadership capacity that will strengthen California for years to come.
