Presbytery of San Gabriel
The Presbytery of San Gabriel is a regional body of the Presbyterian Church that brings together congregations across the San Gabriel Valley to live out its mission of serving God through faith, justice, compassion, and community transformation. Guided by a vision to work collaboratively to create lasting solutions for families in need, the Presbytery has demonstrated extraordinary leadership through its partnership with San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity.
In 2023, through the vision and commitment of local faith leaders, the former site of First Presbyterian Church of Baldwin Park was transferred to SGV Habitat to ensure that this cherished property would continue to serve the community through transformative development. Today, that site is being reimagined as an affordable homeownership community, creating opportunities for families to build stability, security, and generational wealth in a region where homeownership remains out of reach for many.
This remarkable gift will have an enduring impact for generations to come, helping 15 families from Baldwin Park and adjacent areas achieve the dream of homeownership and strengthening the fabric of the community for years to come. We are proud to recognize the Presbytery of San Gabriel for its vision, generosity, and unwavering commitment to ensuring that the communities of the San Gabriel Valley continue to thrive. Through this partnership, their legacy of service will be remembered long into the future.
What makes this partnership especially meaningful is that it represents not an ending, but a beginning. The donation of this property marks the first chapter in what we know will be a lasting relationship between the Presbytery of San Gabriel and San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity—one rooted in shared values, common purpose, and a deep commitment to expanding opportunities for families across our region. Together, we look forward to continuing this work in the years ahead, creating hope, building community, and transforming lives for generations to come.
