Fender Musical Instruments Corporation
The partnership between San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity and Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) was born from a shared commitment to community, resilience, and the belief that lasting impact is created when people come together to help others thrive.
Founded in 1946 by Clarence Leonidas “Leo” Fender in Fullerton, California, Fender has shaped the sound of modern music for generations, creating some of the world’s most iconic instruments, including the Stratocaster and Telecaster. Today, FMIC continues that legacy through a family of renowned brands, inspiring musicians and audiences around the globe.
In December 2025, (see photos below) Fender team members brought that commitment directly to the community by volunteering alongside San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity in Altadena. Their team helped complete critical work on Habitat’s first Eaton Fire rebuild, standing side-by-side with homeowners, volunteers, and partners to help a family move closer to returning home.
Continuing their support, Fender created four Custom Shop guitars crafted from a fallen Deodar cedar tree recovered by Angel City Lumber at the request of an Altadena family after the Eaton Fire. These one-of-a-kind instruments — Stratocaster, Jazzmaster, Precision Bass, and Telecaster — stand as powerful symbols of renewal, transforming loss into art and playing songs of resilience. Each guitar tells a story of recovery and hope, carrying forward the spirit of a community determined to rebuild.
The proceeds and awareness generated through this remarkable project will help Altadena families rebuild their homes, restore stability, and remain rooted in the community they cherish. We proudly honor Fender Musical Instruments Corporation for demonstrating how creativity, craftsmanship, and compassion can come together to create lasting community impact — helping families move forward with strength, healing, hope, and a few unforgettable guitar solos.
