Home Repair Operations Update

SGV Habitat is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our staff and the households we serve. We are operating in compliance with all State and local safety regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are accepting and processing applications for our Home Repair Program, but there may be delays in scheduling approved repairs until work can be completed safely.

Need Your Home Repaired?

Our non-profit affordable home repair program assists hard-working, limited-income property owners just like you to repair your home – ensuring you have a safe and stable home for years to come.

The Home in Need of Repair Must

  • be within our service area
  • be occupied by the owner and all primary residents on title
  • be a single-family home, manufactured home, condominium, townhome, or duplex (two units or less)
  • be inhabitable without any unpermitted or illegal additions

The Homeowner Must

  • be current with existing mortgage payments
  • have an active homeowner insurance policy
  • be up to date property taxes
  • put in a minimum of 24 hours of sweat equity into their own home

Additional Requirements

  • applicants with multiple properties are not eligible
  • properties must need repair within the capacity of our organization
  • household income must be at or below 80% of the median income for LA County

Internal and External Repairs Include, but are Not Limited To:

  • Doors
  • Drainage
  • Fencing
  • Gutters
  • Landscaping
  • Paint
  • Porches
  • Ramps and Railings
  • Roofs
  • Siding
  • Trim and Fascia
  • Windows

home repairs are limited to homes within our service area. The map does not have all of the cities within our service area shown. For a complete list of cities in our area, please see our service area page.

What are the Income Requirements?

You must earn at or below the income listed for your household size. These limits are based on the 2020 Los Angeles County gross (before taxes) annual income figures and are subject to change.

Step 02

Full Application

If you meet the requirements in the initial review, a full application will be sent to you. Applications must be turned in to us by the specified date with all required and necessary documents.

Step 03


Once your application is reviewed, we will schedule a visit to your home to determine what repairs are needed.

Step 04

Repairs Completed

Once approved, volunteers and private contractors will repair your home

Step 05

Pay it Forward

Your small affordable payment is put right back into our home repair and homeownership programs to continue helping your community.
