At San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a decent and affordable place to live. That’s where you can help — your compassion and dedication to building homes and communities brings hope to those who need it most. But we can’t do it without loyal partners like YOU.
Your tax-deductible gift today will give a local family a hand up — not a hand out — as they work alongside our staff and volunteers to build and buy their very own Habitat home!
Let’s help hardworking families realize a dream they never thought possible… to own their own home. Together we can empower more families and help build a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Framing the Future
In January 2024, SGV Habitat announced a new campaign, Framing the Future, which will bring people together to build homes, communities and hope in your local neighborhoods. This campaign highlights the immense need for affordable places to live and celebrates the diverse ways SGV Habitat is finding solutions to our local housing crisis — through increasing housing production, affordable home preservation and sustainable practices such as operating resale stores to keep materials out of landfills.
Framing the Future runs January 2024–December 2026
Together we can help families recover and rebuild from California wildfires
The January 2025 fires continue to devastate many communities in the San Gabriel Valley and greater Los Angeles areas. San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity is heartbroken over the destruction.
We are committed to providing affected families with a path to recovery, but we need your support to make this possible. Your generosity can help provide not only shelter but also hope and stability to families as they rebuild their lives from the ground up. Every donation and every act of kindness helps families rise from the ashes.

CONSULT YOUR TAX ADVISOR or financial planner FOR PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE ON TAX DEDUCTION ELIGIBILITY AND ABOUT MAKING A PLANNED GIFT.
Gift of cash or vehicle
Would you like to lower your taxes? When you make a cash gift or donate a vehicle on or before December 31, 2025 you will be eligible to receive a 2025 charitable deduction for the cash value.
Make a tax-free donation from your IRA
Would you like to take a distribution from your IRA tax-free? An IRS provision allows retirees age 70 1/2 years and older to donate up to $100,000 tax-free from their IRA each year. Generally, a distribution from your IRA is treated as taxable income. Under this provision, the assets are excluded from income if the distribution is made directly to charity!
Gift of estate or land
Would you like to earn income for life? By donating estate or land, continue using the property throughout your lifetime, establish an income stream, and avoid capital gains taxes while receiving immediate charitable income tax.
Charitable gift annuity
Are you looking for secure, future income? When you make your gift of cash or appreciated property to Habitat, we can pay you fixed payments for life (with rates based on your age). You will receive a charitable deduction for the value of your gift and a portion of your payments could be tax-free!
Charitable bequest
Make a future gift today! Include Habitat in your will or trust. Once your bequest is made, contact our office so that we can recognize and thank you for your commitment to leaving your legacy to help us build homes for our community’s hardworking families today, tomorrow and for generations to come!

Your dollars change lives
Your generosity will impact the lives of over 200 families over the next 3 years through the Framing the Future Campaign, making a meaningful difference for the next generation of children, allowing them to grow up with the stability of a place to call home.
These homes will forever change the lives of families like Michelle’s, who is finding long-awaited stability in SGV Habitat’s first project in the city of Azusa.
While Michelle served in the U.S. Air Force, she could not have imagined how difficult it would be to find affordable housing, making her transition back to civilian life even more distressing. As a single mother of two, she now had to fight the rising tide of rents which prevented her family from finding a stable forever home. That ongoing civilian battle seemed like it would go on with no end in sight.
Veronica’s family continued the tumultuous churn of uprooting every few years as a result of expensive increases in their rent.
In their current small apartment, Michelle shared “I have my bed in the dining room. We got rid of the dining room table so now we eat our meals on the couch.”
Michelle and her children look forward to a forever home.

The same resourceful and tenacious spirit that guided Michelle so successfully through her service in the U.S. Air Force also fueled her determination not to give up on her dream of providing a stable home for her family.
The opportunity to become a Habitat homeowner will make a lasting difference in the lives of Michelle’s two children, Lauryn, and Josiah. They will finally be able to develop roots in their community, and reap the benefits of the long-term effects that stable housing has on younger minds, building resiliency and health in ways that will have a lifetime of impact on their growth and development.
Michelle cherishes the impact affordable homeownership will have on her family. She looks forward to moving her bed out of the dining room and into a bedroom and saying goodbye to, “the kitchen smell rolling into my space at night.”
Because of your generous support, Michelle and her two children will finally be able to declare a peaceful end to a very commonplace battle in our times and economic outlook in our community, the battle for affordable housing and economic opportunity. You make it possible for Veronica to work alongside the community and, with her own two hands, build her new home in Azusa.
