Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER³)
San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity partnered with Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER³) to support families in Altadena impacted by the Eaton Fire.
Through this collaboration:
- GER³ provided licensed expertise in disaster response, including testing, smoke remediation, and debris removal.
- SGV Habitat led the next phase of recovery—repairs such as insulation, flooring, painting, and appliance replacement—powered by volunteers and community support.
Together, we completed Mary’s home—the first of many to be restored after the Eaton Fire—and are planning repairs for 12 more households this year. This partnership is paving the way for long-term recovery and stability for Altadena’s most vulnerable residents.

A Sense of Home (ASOH)
San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity has partnered with A Sense of Home (ASOH) to help fire-impacted families in Altadena return not just to safe houses, but to true homes. While SGV Habitat and GER³ repair and restore damaged structures, ASOH provides thoughtfully selected furniture and décor.
Mary, one of the first homeowners served, visited the ASOH warehouse to handpick beautiful pieces for her return. Volunteers helped her choose and load the truck, while SGV Habitat staff brought everything into her home—transforming an empty house into a warm, welcoming space.
Together, we’re making sure recovery goes beyond rebuilding walls—bringing comfort, dignity, and a fresh start.

Partner Spotlight: Tam Ky Project
Tam Ky Project is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting underserved communities in Vietnam, where they have funded schools, roads, hospitals, and disaster relief efforts. When the devastating Eaton Fire struck Altadena, they were moved to extend their generosity closer to home.
Tam Ky Project selected SGV Habitat as a partner and donated $10,000 to support critical repair work for 20 homes. Mary’s home was the first to benefit, receiving a brand-new washer and dryer. Inspired to do even more, Tam Ky Project raised an additional $4,000, which they contributed toward the first new Habitat home to be built in Altadena.
Their commitment shows how compassion knows no borders—impacting lives both abroad and right here in our local community.
