multi-family project manager
As a Multi-Family Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. Your primary objective will be to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and safety regulations. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams, to coordinate project activities and deliver successful outcomes.
Essential Job Duties
- Create, monitor and maintain construction schedule
- Solicit bids for material, equipment and subcontractors
- Schedule, monitor and provide information to subcontractors
- Assist in creation of a detailed scope of work and specifications for each project, including whole-house rehabilitation projects.
- Manage construction contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.
- Create or assist in the creation of project specifications including project scope, objectives, and timelines.
- Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure that construction meets or exceeds industry and organizational standards.
- Vet subcontractors and suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the finance department on cost coding, project contract management, and maintain required vendor documents.
- Work closely with on-site construction staff to facilitate effective communication and coordination of project activities.
- Develops contacts and networks to also assist ReStore donations, Volunteer Groups, and Individual Volunteers.
- Identify and inventory donated construction materials suitable for project use.
- Maintain an organized inventory of surplus and donated building materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist the real estate department in providing preliminary cost per square foot estimates for preconstruction and project feasibility.
- Coordinate the purchasing of building materials and jobsite delivery in collaboration with on-site construction staff.
- Monitor the availability of donated goods from Habitat for Humanity International and place orders as needed.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms for the procurement of materials and services.
Senior Director of Development
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Senior Director of Development (SDD) serves as a key member of SGVHFH’s leadership team and is the chief strategist for all aspects of fundraising and donor engagement. A dynamic and collaborative leader, the SDD will bring a deep passion for SGVHFH’s mission and a commitment to mobilizing resources and relationships that drive impact. This role is ideal for a builder who can compellingly communicate the organization’s vision, inspire donors, and expand our network of supporters.
Leading a team of five, the SDD is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all fundraising activities—including individual giving, corporate and foundation partnerships, grant writing, and special events—with the goal of increasing revenue and deepening donor engagement. The ideal candidate will bring a track record of cultivating major gifts, stewarding long-term donor relationships, and fostering a culture of philanthropy across staff and volunteers. This is a hands-on, externally focused role, requiring an experienced professional who is energized by connecting with donors, driving results, and ensuring SGVHFH’s financial sustainability well into the future.
Real Estate Development Project Management Assistant
This position will help in identifying viable projects, utilizing various methods of research and community/city partnerships and connections, and preparing business cases to support the Director and SGV Habitat Team in making decisions.
They will coordinate municipal project approvals process including assembling required documents and consulting with project vendors, neighbors, local officials and other stakeholders. Assist with key tasks for predevelopment of project sites as assigned by the Real Estate Development Director.
Volunteer Coordinator
The Volunteer Coordinator oversees the recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of volunteers across various departments, including construction, ReStore, and office roles. This position is central in supporting our volunteers, who play a key role in furthering San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity’s mission of providing affordable housing and strengthening our community. The coordinator will use the organization’s volunteer management software to track activities, generate reports, and foster strong volunteer engagement. This role will collaborate with the team to continuously improve the volunteer experience, implement best practices for engagement and retention, streamline processes, and ensure the effective use of volunteers. Additionally, they support the AmeriCorps Volunteer Services Coordinator and stay current with industry trends to continually improve volunteer programs. Volunteers are at the heart of our efforts to build homes and empower communities.
Mortgage Specialist
The Mortgage Specialist plays a key role in the administration of San Gabriel Valley (SGV) Habitat for Humanity’s Housing Programs by overseeing the eligibility process from application to closing. This position involves reviewing and processing homeowner applications, underwriting loans, and finalizing documentation for loans, including home sales, with a focus on ensuring eligibility and meeting program requirements. The Mortgage Specialist will collaborate closely with the Director of Programs, external partners, and internal teams to support the construction pipeline and ensure the timely delivery of affordable housing to the community.
This role is essential in maintaining the flow of qualified applicants and working with them to navigate the complex processes of home repairs, new home construction, Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) projects, and rebuilding efforts, particularly in response to the Eaton Fire. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in lending standards, financial eligibility assessments, and compliance with industry regulations. They will also be able to work directly with applicants and guide them through the application, eligibility and program processes.
ReStore Positions
ReStore Pickup & Delivery Driver Full-Time
The ReStore Driver will serve as an ambassador for our organization by picking up donated merchandise throughout our service area. If you have excellent customer service skills, experience in driving, delivery, and retail, with a willingness to serve, this is the position for you.
This position is physically demanding and involves a significant amount of heavy lifting on a daily basis. There is daily communication with the donation coordinators to assure the routes are completed. This position is also very rewarding, including many opportunities to help families build financial stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
AmeriCorps Service Positions
Construction Crew Leader
The construction crew leader plays an integral part in building and repairing homes. Lead groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers and homeowner families in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment, thus, developing and enhancing your volunteer management and construction skills.
- Typically serve Tuesday – Saturday on the build site.
- Assist with all aspects of hands-on construction tasks including, but not limited to, demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry and landscaping.
- Projects may include new construction, rehabilitation, critical home repair and weatherization projects.
- Lead small groups of volunteers and facilitate safe and positive experiences for everyone working on site.
- Maintain site safety by adhering to Habitat construction safety policies, modeling best practices and guidelines, volunteer education and site monitoring.
This position will focus on home construction aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.
Internship Opportunities
Communications Internship
We have an exciting internship opportunity in our Monrovia Office. We are looking for a commitment of at least 15 hours per week. We are willing to work with your school schedule. This is an in-person internship.
Requirements: Detail oriented and self-motivated, excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, ability to handle many priorities/functions
Flexible hours, preferable a minimum of 15 hours per week
Education/Experience: All majors considered – marketing, advertising, communications, video production or journalism preferred

E-Commerce Internship
The E-Commerce Intern will be responsible for supporting the online sales efforts of the San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore. This includes assisting in the creation of product listings for online sales, organization inventory, shipping items, and other methods to continually improve and grow the e-commerce program. This person must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, tremendous attention to detail, and the ability to generate professional written and visual content that aligns with the branding and messaging of the organization.
The E-Commerce intern helps the E-Commerce team with generating income produced by the ReStores in order to provide maximum funding to further our organization’s mission of providing safe and decent housing in the San Gabriel Valley.
