“Shortly after the devastation from the Eaton Fire was realized our organization made a commitment to help with the long-term recovery,” said SGV Habitat CEO Bryan Wong. “We have not wavered from this commitment. Recently we completed repairs that allowed Mary, an Altadena resident, to move back home after 8 months of being displaced. We have 12 more projects like this planned and will soon break ground on our first of at least 25 rebuilds for underinsured homeowners. Partners like UCLA, and the Rose Bowl, who continue to bring attention to the need and assist in raising funds to support the communities of Altadena and Pasadena are the only way this work is possible.”
Walls of Hope
More than 500 volunteers came together for Walls of Hope, a two-day build event hosted by San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity to launch long-term recovery efforts for families impacted by the Eaton Fire.
