Americorps Volunteer Services Coordinator

The volunteer services coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base and advancing individual and group partnerships. Market within the community to recruit new volunteers. Develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

Typically serve Tuesday – Saturday to support work on the build site.

Recruit and schedule volunteers for construction, office, ReStore, deconstruction, family services and special events opportunities.
Assist with all aspects of volunteer management including orientations, maintenance of database, volunteer tracking and follow-up.
Work with construction staff to ensure successful volunteer build days – signing volunteers in, providing orientation and safety briefings, helping put away tools with volunteers at the end of the day and ordering necessary volunteer supplies.
Develop and/or revise volunteer recruitment, management and recognition tools.

The construction crew leader plays an integral part in building and repairing homes. Lead groups of skills and unskilled volunteers and homeowner families in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment, thus, developing and enhancing your volunteer management and construction skills.

Assist with all aspects of hands-on construction tasks including, but not limited to, demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry and landscaping.
Projects may include new construction, rehabilitation, critical home repair and weatherization projects.
Lead small groups of volunteers and facilitate safe and positive experiences for everyone working on site.

ReStore Pickup & Delivery Driver Full-Time

The ReStore Assistant Driver will serve as an ambassador for our organization by picking up donated merchandise throughout our service area. If you have excellent customer service skills, experience in driving, delivery, and retail, with a willingness to serve, this is the position for you.
This position is physically demanding and involves a significant amount of heavy lifting on a daily basis. There is daily communication with the donation coordinators to assure the routes are completed. This position is also very rewarding, including many opportunities to help families build financial stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

E-Commerce Internship

The E-Commerce Intern will be responsible for supporting the online sales efforts of the San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStores. This includes assisting in the creation of product listings for online sales, organizing inventory, shipping items, and other methods to continually improve and grow the e-commerce program. This person must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, tremendous attention to detail, and the ability to generate professional written and visual content that aligns with the branding and messaging of the organization. The E-Commerce intern helps the E-commerce team with generating income produced by the ReStores in order to provide maximum funding to further our organization’s mission of providing safe and decent housing in San Gabriel Valley.

Essential Duties:
The E-Commerce Intern lists, processes, and ships products on behalf of the San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStores utilizing e-commerce outlets (e.g. ebay), while providing exceptional customer service to our online customers and donors. This addition to our team will help to execute the following items and have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience:

Produce accurate and attractive e-commerce listings (content, photos, design)
Process and ship purchased items via USPS, FedEx, UPS, and large freight shipping services
Provide exceptional customer service to customers and donors
Edit and update listings, including price adjustments and inventory tracking
Research market pricing and maintain awareness of current trends
Maintain clean and organized workspace and inventory storage area
Collaborate with ReStore and office staff to accomplish individual and collective goals
Work with the Procurement and E-Commerce Manager to develop and grow the e-commerce program
Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
De-brand and/or unbox product as necessary
Must be dependable and punctual
Is committed to San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity’s mission to eliminate substandard housing and make affordable housing a matter of conscience and action

Requirements
1. An applied undergraduate college student — a diligent worker with a GPA of 3.0 or better
2. Written & verbal communication— you are a strong writer; you’re a great listener and can adapt your communication style to meet our marketing department’s needs
3. Project management— you excel at managing multiple projects to achieve goals and act self sufficiently
4. Software skills— entry level skills in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
5. You are a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion – embracing people from all background, ethnicities, religions, and sexual orientations
6. Physical demands— must be able to lift 25 pounds, capable of standing for long periods of time, bending and/or twisting of the body to meet lifting needs.

Accounting Summer Internship

We have an exciting accounting internship opportunity in our Monrovia Office. This is a Summer internship; it will begin immediately and continue until school begins. We are looking for a commitment of at least 24 hours per week. We are willing to work with your school schedule. This is an in-person internship.
